Highlights of working at the BBC Good Food Show

Katy Truss • Nov 28, 2018

This will be the 12th BBC Good Food Show Winter that we've worked on and it opens tomorrow at the NEC, Birmingham.

This week the almighty BBC Good Food Show Winter takes place at the NEC Birmingham. This will be the 12th Winter Show that @katytruss has worked on and it’s still so exciting to be part of it!

Highlights over the years include:

 • Live interviews with celebrity chefs like Paul Hollywood (pictured above with a heavily pregnant Katy!), Mary Berry, the late, great Antonio Carluccio, The Hairy Bikers and Marcus Bean.

 • Managing 10 years of the Producers Bursary Awards, where free stands have been awarded to lots of outstanding, small Artisan food and drink producers. Don’t miss this year’s winners: @thepishedfish @wonderfoodfromthedeep @happybutterghee @weddellandturner @russianpies & @mousesfavourite. Special thanks to @barney_desmazery of BBC Good Food who is a great support and always helps judge and supports our winners.

 • Launching and managing the fabulous BBC Good Food Champions area full of the finest independent speciality food and drink producers! (There’s over 50 this year!). We love helping to ensure they have a fab show!

 • Sharing our show highlights and Fabulous Food Finds with VIP guests, bloggers and chefs.

 • Working alongside the brilliant Laura Biggs and the awesome @bbcgoodfoodshow team who put on incredible shows throughout the year.

 • Oh and we have to include the time @katytruss was prank called by Johnny Vaughn and the capital FM team in the build up to her first ever BBC GF show... confessed her love for rhubarb and had her 15 minutes of rhubarb loving radio fame!

Here’s to a brilliant BBC Good Food Show Winter! Will we see you there?!
