Eurovision Feast!

Katy Truss • May 10, 2014

Whether you’re a fan of the Eurovision Song Contest or not, it brings with it an unrivalled opportunity for a themed feast! Back in 2013 my sister hosted a spectacular Eurovision party where a ‘traditional’ dish or drink was consumed during every Country’s song – in real time! It was a fantastic, chaotic night full of delicious food and lots to drink too.

Now there were highs and lows of this feast and it was meant to feed a crowd, there are some authentic dishes, some not so... as you'll see! I have updated in 2023 with a few more details but to be honest the night was hazy, drunken but FUN!

Here's some inspiration for hosting your own Eurovision Party! Warning - some of the pictures get rather dodgy... what can you expect after a drink with every song?!

German Bratwursts and Mustard - served with a German Pilsner

Belgian Chips and Mayo - with Cherry Belgian Beer

Buttered Estonian Rye Bread with Vana Talinn

Spanish Patatas Bravas and Chorizo with Sangria

Blueberries from Finland with Lakka Liqueur (made with couldberries)

Lithuanian Beetroot Soup with Samane

Italian Pizza with Limoncello

Greek Dips and Pitta Bread with Ouzo (ouch!)

Chicken Kievs inspired by Ukraine with Ukrainian vodka

Romanian Doughnuts with Sour Cherry Visinata

Russian Potato Salad with Russian vodka

Irish Spiced Mutton Shoulder with Guinness

Slovakian Kebabs with Borovicka

Do let me know if you create your own Eurovision Feast, would love to see the results!
